Visual Arts Regional Touring

Each year Tasmanian Regional Arts co-ordinates a series of exhibitions of contemporary Tasmanian visual arts and crafts.

TRA is always looking for suitable exhibitions, and encourages artists to contact TRA to discuss potential touring opportunities.

Each exhibition is developed to be easily transported and displayed in community run venues such as community arts centres council library spaces or shire halls.

The annual selection process for exhibitions is in two stages: TRA's touring committee reviews and selects a menu of works from the exhibitions offered for touring which is then offered to our Branch network for final selection.

The size, number and type of works per exhibition are carefully selected by the TRA Touring Subcommittee against rigorous guidelines to ensure that TRA branch volunteers can display and remove the works easily.

TRA staff then prepare the final touring program menu based on the level of interest from its Branches.

All exhibitions are accompanied by promotional materials to assist Branches in advertising the exhibition to their community. Exhibitions can be from either individual artists or from groups of artists or craftspeople.

Artists considering a tour through TRA  are encouraged to discuss their ideas with TRA prior to lodging an expression of interest.
