The Creative Culture Journey

Some things in life really excite me. Taking a journey is one of those things, and when combined with the unknown, that journey is transformed into an alluring adventure, so enticing that I have no choice but to clutch at the crest of the wave of my own compulsion.

From the start events presented themselves in random fashion, and over time the momentum grew. Everywhere I looked I saw more live performance, exhibitions and artisan craft than I have seen in ten years. I met more artists, musicians and writers than I can recall knowing in the last twenty.

The weight of my exploration bulged, my hunger took hold and soon I hit the road. I looped around and zigzagged across our five geographic regions, and in my eagerness I took in as much creative culture as I could squeeze into my days and nights.

It became impossible for me to converse, read or to move in any direction without seeking art. I bombarded my senses; I ate, slept and dreamt with exploring on my mind, breathed in and was intoxicated by, every exposure to expression and its maker that I could place myself near. I wandered in hope of my next mindboggling, chest expanding, creative blast.

Tasmanian Creative Culture is a mere snippet of my delightful adventure into artistic bliss, a smattering of what can be found in the abundant stash of designers, makers and creators of this island state. Hold on tight and get ready, there’s no doubt you’ll see much more!
